AGM Votes a New Constitution into existence

On 24 August, the Annual General Meeting in Brisbane voted a new constitution into existence. This represented the culmination of a year’s work and several months’ intensive consultation. In a session lasting about ninety minutes, members moved several amendments and asked many questions, but the essence of the new constitution remained intact. The discussion was handled in a masterly way by George Mackenzie, outgoing Director of the National Records of Scotland and ICA’s constitutional authority. He was for the most part able to reassure members about the legitimate concerns which they raised.

Korea to host the ICA 2016 congress
November 02, 2011
The ICA General Assembly formally approved the Executive Board recommendation to choose Korea as the host for the 2016 International Congress, so completing a new process developed by ICA to select host countries for its annual conferences and congresses.

The Universal Declaration on Archives adopted by the Annual General Meeting in Oslo!

Adopted in principle last year, at the ICA Annual General Meeting in Malta, the Universal Declaration on Archives has now officially become one of the core pillars in ICA's advocacy policy.
