World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
27 October World Day for Audiovisual Heritage - 2012
The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is a commemoration of the adoption, in 1980 by the 21st General Conference, of the Recommendation for the Safeguarding and Preservation of Moving Images. The World Day provides an occasion to raise general awareness of the need to take urgent measures and to acknowledge the importance of audiovisual documents. "Audiovisual heritage memory? the clock is ticking" is the slogan of this year's celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage (27 October).
To celebrate this global event, please let us know any ideas you might have or projects you may be working on which will help to promote awareness of these resources and receive in return a poster which has been produced jointly by the Centre for Research and Promotion of the Image (CRDI) and the Museum of the Cinema as one of the projects of PCOM.
Posters will be sent, on request, to the first 30 institutions who ask for them (subject to availability) at the following address
