My name is Allison Hickey and I work at Queensland State Archives as a Reference Archivist in the Public Access team. Queensland State Archives is located in the suburb of Runcorn, a 30-40 minute drive from the Brisbane CBD. The archives are surrounded by lush gardens and bushland.

Hi, I’m Debra Leigo.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Information Studies (Records & Archives Management) from Charles Sturt University in 2011. I completed the course through distance education while living on a 102, 000 acre (41,311 hectare) grazing property in far western New South Wales: 140 km north of White Cliffs, 270 km west of Bourke.

Post-graduate master course in records management at the German school of archives in Marburg

The school of archives (Archivschule) in the German city of Marburg is launching a new education course in records management. The two-year post-graduate “Master of Records Management” shall start in 2012/13.
It is aimed at university graduates with appropriate professional experience, i.e. two years career at least. A mandatory attendance of 21 weeks in Marburg is required. Furthermore, the students will use e-learning tools and study independently. It is intended to enable the future graduates of the Master course to manage and supervise a records management center of a private company or of a public office and to introduce document management or electronic records management systems.

Samoa Archives update Report
The Archives of Samoa under the Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture is progressing tremendously throughout the years. Upon its founding in 1996, the existing staff at the time was tasked to salvage and safeguard archival materials belonging to the government abandoned in some old government premises. Most documents were salvaged from the old prison building, Court House, etc. These documents contain important and significant value to the government and the people of Samoa.
