International Seminar "Documents and monuments. The mediterranean tradition", Granada, Spain, 11-13 November 2014

The International Seminar "Documents and monuments. The mediterranean tradition" will be held in Granada (Spain) on 11, 12 and 13 November 2014.
It is organized by The Council of La Alhambra and Generalife in association with the International Council on Archives.
This Seminar has the following purposes:
- The approach and discussion among all those professionals involved in the intervention in the historical heritage
- To publicize the documentary sources and archives that retain required documentation that is basic to address the conservation, maintenance and intervention in equity historical
- The training of professionals in several fields related to the topics covered
- The search for similar experiences in Mediterranean countries with a tradition and a common cultural history.
The International Seminar will be celebrated in an extraordinary setting: the hall of the Palace of Charles V. Monumental Complex of The Alhambra and Generalife. Granada, Spain.

Between the 14th and 15th of november of 2013, in Ponferrada (León, Spain) have been held the Conference Stone, paper, intervention. Archives and intervention in the historical heritage. The performance of this Conference has to be considered as a remarkable benchmarking and the word that would reflect what has came over in it is “co-work”. This meeting and discussion board has been the result of the colaboration between several institutions, at the begining the Conference was promoted by the Section of Architectural Records of the International Council of Archives (ICA/SAR) and by the professional Association of Archivists of Castilla y León (ACAL); the Junta of Castilla y León and the Municipality of Ponferrada joined to this initiative. On the other hand it is remarkable the participation and co-work of archivists, architects, archaeologists, historians and other professions that could be linked with the conservation, restoration or the intervention in the historical heritage.

The Association of Archivists of Castilla and León (ACAL) has organized a conference about the intervention on Cultural Heritage and its reflection on Archives, in cooperation with the Section on Architectural Records.
So the Section is pleased to announce that this conference will be held in Ponferrada, Spain, on November, 14th and 15th, 2013.

In Andalusia, Spain, was held on October, 19-20, 2010 The International Seminar on Archives Archives and Records Files for a better life. The strategic values of the architectural archives.
This international seminar brought together architects, archivists and engineers, and other specialists, to discuss how Architecture influences the improvement of living conditions of people and how these activities are documented and how to act in the management, conservation and promotion of these documents and fonds.
