Guidelines for applying ISAD(G) to architecture records and archives
The Professional Programme represents the combined efforts of ICA's network of volunteers to meet the organisation's fundamental aims and six strategic objectives.
This project, that is endorsed by the Programme Commission (PCOM), is related to one of those strategic objectives of ICA: Building Capacity in the Records and Archives Profession.
Architectural records and archives are used by various users, including searchers, professionals, technicians, students, etc. Technical drawings are distributed in different types of files in public and private holdings, linked with economical, legal, administrative, cultural activities. Archivists and records managers have difficulties in managing these records, especially in the field of description (technical content, graphical and technical restitution of the documents...). The project aims to develop a description standard in this field, according to ISAD (G).
