International Congress
Every four years the ICA holds its International Congress. This week-long conference is open to professional archivists across the world whether or not they are ICA members, and takes place in a different country every time. Each Congress has a specific theme based on professional archival issues, so for example the popular 2008 Congress in Kuala Lumpur looked at Archives, Governance and Development.
2012 International Congress
As a delegate not only do you get the opportunity to hear of the latest research and work from leading practitioners, there are numerous opportunities to meet fellow archivists and other members of the Branches and Sections.
The Congress is carefully priced to ensure the maximum number of delegates can afford to attend. It is also an important opportunity for the ICA leadership to meet with the archive profession to gauge opinion and inform ICA's strategic thrust.
