Volunteering opportunity n°3

ICA thrives on the diversity of its membership so strong communication between its wide membership base is fundamental. Translators are central this dialogue for they provide translation of key ICA publications and documents.

As a Translator you will combine your linguistic and professional knowledge to translate both the language and concepts contained within a range of ICA documents such as Standards and conference papers. With your strong command of professional issues and chosen languages you will be making sophisticated content relevant to a specific culture or community.

You will be part of a worldwide network of Translators through which you will be invited to work on particular translation projects. As there is no travel involved this is a role that you can fulfil from your desk and fit around your professional work. Within the ICA website you will also be able to access the Translators workspace to talk with and learn from your fellow Translators.

Translation provides a fascinating way of looking at professional knowledge, learning about international best practice, making contacts internationally, helping the archive community and developing as a professional.
