Deacidification of documents, State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam

Date Added:12 January 2010

Need for advises about deacidification of documents from the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam.

We are in the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam. At present, we are keeping alarge amout of high acidic (PH = 3-5) national document with poor condition and different inks. We are planning to use amonia vapour deacidifier system for these documents. However we hesitate about this method because it was long time ago and we dont know it is now available or not.

A big question raised for us is what is the best way of deacidification we should use for these document?

So we will be very appreciated if to be given some advises about the aboved question from you.

Thank you very much!

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
