The International Archives Day in 2010
The 9th June, declared by ICA as the International Archives Day, will open a series of activities organized by ICA members around the world to promote the archives and the profession: exhibitions, conferences, promotion campaigns will be launched today to make the general public aware of the importance of archives, and the need for supporting the profession.
"To all ICA colleagues, I wish an excellent International Archives Day. Lets us be proud to call ourselves archivists, whether we are in document, records or archives management", said Henri Zuber, ICA Vice-President for the Professional Associations.
Miri Smail, archivist in Algeria, congratulates "ICA members and the archivists all around the world", and wishes that "they are successful in promoting and developing archives".
"Happy International Archives Day!", wrote Hajah Fatimah Haji Aji, from the National Archives of Brunei Darussalam, which are celebrating for first time the event, by organizing a wide range of activities.
THE ICA LEADERSHIP AND SECRETARIAT WISH YOU AN EXCITING AND SUCCESSFUL 9 JUNE AND HOPE THAT IT WILL SUPPORT YOUR EFFORTS IN PROMOTING ARCHIVES AND THE PROFESSION.
