ICA Constitution
Language(s):English, French
On 24 August the Annual General Meeting in Brisbane voted the new ICA constitution into existence. It represents the culmination of a year’s hard work and widespread consultation within ICA bodies. Legally, ICA is an association under French law, and our lawyers have now advised that the new constitution can be registered with the French authorities.
The new Constitution is now available in French and English, the two working languages of ICA. It is intended to simplify ICA’s governance, to strengthen its democratic structures, and to increase opportunities for archivists throughout the globe who wish to participate in the organization. The next task is to develop a set of Internal Regulations that will support the smooth operation of the new constitution.
