"Formal education for archivists at the university is now a reality in Peru", said Dr. Aida Luz Mendoza, coordinator of the AyGD (Archivística y Gestión documental) programme at Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae (UCSS) in her opening speech at the new archival degree launching ceremony, which took place in Lima, Peru, on 4 June 2010.
