Date Added:26 October 2010

The Centre for Image Research and Diffusion (CRDI) of the Girona City Council, in conjunction with the Museum of Cinema and in collaboration with the International Council on Archives (ICA) has developed a new leaflet with a chronology of audiovisual media. This is the fifth work in a series that began three years ago, and is dedicated to recording sound.

To celebrate World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, on October 27th, the Friends of UNESCO in Girona, the Centre for Image Research and Diffusion (CRDI) of the Girona City Council and the Museum of Cinema organize "The audiovisual heritage in Girona: the documentary (1928-1943)". The event will consist in screening two documentaries about the city of Girona: "Gerona" (1928) from the film distribution company, now defunct, called CINAES, and "Gerona" (1943) directed by Teodoro Busquets.

Before the screening, Joan Boadas (Municipal Archivist and CRDI Director) and Pau Saavedra (CRDI technician) will provide an overview of the fonds of film hold in CRDI and they will speak about historical and cultural context in which these films were made.
