Meeting of the Committee on Best Practices and Standards/Working Group on Archival Description, Bucharest, Romania, May 23-27 2011

The next meeting of the Committee on Best Practices and Standards/Working Group on Archival Descrption will meet in Bucharest, Romania on 23-27 May 2011 at the invitation of the National Archives of Romania.

The work will focus on the compendium of ICA descriptive standards which should be released for the next International Congress, at Brisbane (Australia), 2012, in order to promote consistent use of the standards and to explain to the archival community how the four ICA standards relate to one another as a unique set of standards.
Another part of the meeting will be devoted to the version 1.1. of ICA-AtoM, the free and open-source tool enabling archivists to edit archival descriptions and to upload archival finding aids.
A seminar on archival descriptive standards will be held on 27 May 2011.
