ALLEMAGNE
Bernhard Post studied history, German literature and educational studies at University of Mainz. He received his PhD in 1983 with a thesis on the emancipation of the Jews in the catholic electorate of Kurmainz in the late 18th century. Subsequently, he qualified as an archivist at the State Archive of Rhineland-Palatinate in Koblenz and at the archive school in Marburg. After working at the Main State Archive of Hesse in Wiesbaden, he changed to the Thuringian Main State Archive in Weimar in 1993 and has been head of the archive since 2008.
