I have a Master of Information Studies from the Faculty of Information, at University of Toronto. I completed my graduate studies in April 2011. As a graduate student, my academic specialization was Archives & Records Management. My particular interest in the field of archives and information relate to their roles as tools for social agency in civil society, human rights, and international development efforts. I have been crystallizing my interest through a blog I created called Archivists Watch (http://thearchivistswatch.wordpress.com/) as a way to explore further the current happenings in the area. This interest is also reflected in and complemented by my past projects. As a course project, I assisted the G8-G20 Information Center, at the university, in developing and implementing online cataloguing descriptions for their G8-G20 collection. Additionally, I spent the last two summers doing practical internships. In 2009, I interned at the NGO, Human Rights Watch in New York City. Subsequently, in 2010 I returned to New York to do an internship at the United Nations Secretariat in their Archives & Records Management Section. These projects were unique and practical experiences.
