Has worked in records and information management in professional and academic roles since 2003, most recently as records management consultant to the Staff Council of the OPCW in Den Haag. Responsible for strategic and operational records management services within UK health and health regulation sector; researcher on major electronic records project at Northumbria University. Studied Greek / Ancient History and Archaeology at Trinity College Dublin (BA(Mod)), and Records Management at Northumbria University (MSc). Currently working on PhD in University of Amsterdam on the semiotics of records and archives and their role as objects of consumption. Prior to entering the records field, worked in publishing, financial services and the academic world with roles including editor and researcher on specialist publications, business analyst in a financial software development company, and temporary lecturer in Classics in Trinity College Dublin. Author or co-author of a number of publications in professional and academic journals, and has presented papers at several conferences and events.
