Karyn manages the archives of IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) working on digital and non-digital records as well as aiding exhibition curation, research and undertaking conservation. Currently Secretary of SAR (Section for Architectural Records) for the ICA. Also Chair of the Art, Design and Architecture group of ARLIS for whom she has organised conferences on artists and their archives and co-edited 'All This Stuff: Archiving the Artist'. Previously managed the archives and special collections of architectural firm Foster+Partners. Prior to this she undertook a photographic project, Man and Cameraman (George Bernard Shaw Collection), at London School of Economics: to catalogue, conserve, promote and make available 20,000 items which culminated in a joint exhibit with the National Trust. During the project Karyn delivered two papers on the history of photography and their research value. Prior to this was Archivist for University of the Arts, London working mainly on Stanley Kubrick Archive, Jocelyn Herbert Theatre Archive and graphic design collections including those of Edward Bawden and Tom Eckersley: cataloguing, researching, aiding researchers, undertaking exhibitions and conservation. Kubrick cataloging culminated in Karyn delivering a paper on the development of Lolita from novel to film. Also acted as archival consultant to the John Latham Archive at Camberwell College of Art. Exhibition experience at UAL included Designs on Delivery, jointly with the Royal Mail Archive. Before this Karyn was Assistant Archivist for the National Co-operative Archive and consultant to the Rochdale Pioneers Museum and Graduate Archivist at Kew Gardens working on the papers of explorers and past Garden Directors. .
