Lisa Snider has completed her Master of Archival Studies degree, and is currently finishing her MLIS degree at the University of British Columbia, School of Library, Archival and Information Studies. She also holds a BA in Modern History and BA in Classical History from the University of Calgary, and her Masters in Classical Archaeology from the University of British Columbia. Lisa specializes in digital preservation, visual materials preservation and archival web site accessibility. Most recently, she has worked in an archival and/or web consulting capacity for the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College, City of Vancouver Archives, UBC Archives, Mount Allison University Archives, The Archives of Lesbian Oral Testimony at Simon Fraser University, The SAA Visual Materials Section and Vancouver East Cultural Centre. Lisa became a professional web developer in 1996, and has run her web development business since 1999. Her clients have included businesses, organizations, academics and archives from around the world. She has been making web sites accessible since 1999, and is now working on accessibility in an archival context. She is the Webmaster for the Archives Association of British Columbia, Web Editor for the Association of Canadian Archivists and Web Liaison for the SAA Joint Working Group on Accessibility and Visual Materials Section. Lisa is very active in the Joint Working Group, specializing in archival web site accessibility; and has just created the new Accessibility Special Interest Section for the Association of Canadian Archivists, which she will Chair this fall.
