RE-ESTABLISHING THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF VANUATU:
A Day in the life of the Assistant Archivist, Augustine Tevimule
Officially established on the occasion of Vanuatu’s Independence, 30 July 1980, the National Archives enjoyed some good years until 1997, when the staff of seven was slashed to only one, as part of the Government’s Comprehensive Reform Programme. Without sufficient human or material resources, the old, small Archives building fell into abandonment and archives work was neglected for over a decade.ICA Meetings and Events > International Congress > News from Brisbane

Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia with a population of two million people. Its location on the east coast of Australia, 27 degrees south of the equator, blesses it with an enviable subtropical climate and an average of eight hours of sun per day. The Congress is being held at the end of winter and you can expect temperatures to range from an average minimum of 10 Celsius to average maximum temperatures of 22 Celsius.ICA Meetings and Events > International Congress > News from Brisbane

Bula Colleagues,
My name is Opeta Alefaio, I have been here at the National Archives of Fiji (NAF) since 2004, which isn’t very long, but there have been very many things to learn in that time. Archives and recordkeeping work in Fiji is extremely challenging.ICA Meetings and Events > International Congress > News from Brisbane
