Discover the City of Bethune Digital Belfry Project
In the framework of the programme « Bethune, 2011 regional capital of Culture ”, the association KOAN (cultural projects)in partnership with the Municipal Archives of Béthune the has designed and built a multimedia observatory , the DIGITAL BELFRY, which will be inaugurated on the 9 June, International Archives Day.
Using the belfry, the place in a tower in which bells were housed to raise the alarm, as a starting point, this project combines a sensitive approach to innovative transmission of the heritage, making it accessible to al and offering a new experience of the city.
Most of the belfries in the North of France are registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Programme).
