SARBICA Executive Committee Members have agreed to hold expert workshops on various aspects of records and archives.
The Committee have identified member countries with expertise in topics such as the following:
Oral History – Singapore
Preservation & Conservation – Malaysia/Vietnam
Disaster Preparedness & Prevention – Indonesia/Philippines
Electronic Records Management System – Malaysia
Advocacy – Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei
Training the Trainer Resource Pack – Indonesia
Access – Singapore
Storage – Singapore/Indonesia
The experts workshop will be held in or either countries as mentioned above. SARBICA member countries will nominate 2 participants each for the workshop. Each workshop is scheduled for 2 weeks. Expert member countries will prepare the workshop module, identify the facilitators, venue and cater for food (3 meals). SARBICA is seeking funding from ICA to bear the cost of air tickets and payment to the workshop facilitators. Facilitators will be identified from host country and SARBICA would like ICA to recommend and sponsor an international expert pertaining to the particular area/topic.
Workshop is expected to be held in October 2010. Venue to be decided during the SARBICA Executive Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, May 2010.
