In 2019, ICA launched a membership consultation process entitled ICA for its members, by its members which sought to understand how the community viewed the International Council on Archives and where it should focus its attention in its upcoming strategic plan. All the feedback and responses have been collated and examined, which has resulted in ICA’s new strategic plan Empowering Archives and the Profession 2021-2023. At the same time as we were doing work on the strategic review, the ICA governance committees- Programme Commission and Executive Board- have been reviewing the constitution along with their operations to ensure that ICA as an organisation can respond to membership needs and the ambitions of the strategic plan.
