Exchanging Knowledge on Digital Society of the Past
June 30, 2004

DIVA (the Association for Records Management and Archives in the Netherlands) has recently launched a pioneering project: the Digital Society of the Past.

The Digital Society of the Past is an innovative application for exchanging historical information on the Internet. The core of the system is a peer-to-peer participation structure open to members of the public and heritage institutions alike. This application is being developed under an open source licence. A website is now online (www.digitalpast.nl), containing lots of background information on the subject. Please visit our website for more detailed information.

DIVA is now looking for ICA members or a section within the ICA to exchange knowledge on this subject. Perhaps we could meet during the ICA congress in Vienna. DIVA would like to get in contact with colleagues that are occupied with this subject.

Perhaps you know of someone who is operating in this field, or who is developing a similar application. We would be very pleased to get in touch!

Many thanks in advance,

Regards, Barbara Boender www.digitalpast.nl
