CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The ICA Programme Commission (PCOM) invites Members, Branches, Sections, Committees, and others to submit proposals for ICA support for archival projects. Guidance relating to ICA-supported projects is found in “Project Guidelines, Processes, and Evaluation Criteria”.
Applicants may request ICA endorsement (approval but without funding), financial support, or both.
PCOM’s ability to fund projects is limited. For the 2009 calendar year, PCOM anticipates that the total amount available for funding archival projects will be over 50,000 euros, although it will not be possible to give the precise amount until the end of the financial year 2008 on 31 December. In general, 5,000 Euros is the maximum amount available for each project, subject to budget availability.
The Programme Commission urges those who intend to seek ICA support to contact the ICA Secretariat early in the planning stages of the project. The Secretariat will provide information on how to best link the project to the six ICA Strategic Objectives and will try to identify related ICA projects, subject area specialists who might be of assistance, as well as to provide guidance on possible partners and additional funding sources. Christine Martinez officially joins the Secretariat as the new Programme Manager on 1 February 2009, but applicants may begin to contact her for advice relating to their ideas for project proposals from 5 January 2009 onwards. In the meantime, PCOM recommends that applicants begin to identify concepts for possible projects as soon as possible.

Proposals should be submitted to the ICA Secretariat by 15 February 2009 at the very latest. Earlier receipt of the full proposals would be helpful. PCOM anticipates that decisions will be announced by 31 March 2009.
