The International Council on Archives (ICA) is pleased to announce the selected participants of two recent bursary programmes supporting global archival engagement at ICA Barcelona 2025, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from 27 to 30 October 2025. 

Thanks to the generous support of the French Ministry of Culture and our partnership with UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, these bursaries will allow archival professionals from developing countries and underrepresented regions to attend one of the profession’s most significant international events. 

Support for Francophone Participation – ICA Barcelona 2025 Travel Grants 

Launched with support from the French Ministry of Culture, this call offered travel grants exclusively to ICA members from francophone developing countries and territories.

These recipients will take part in the full ICA Congress programme and are committed to disseminating their learnings within their home institutions and countries following the event. 

UNESCO-Memory of the World Bursaries – ICA Barcelona 2025 

In partnership with UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, this call supported participation from Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Developing Economies, and Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations (FCS). 

Along with attending the full ICA Congress, recipients will also take part in a dedicated knowledge-sharing forum and a workshop on documentary heritage, organised in collaboration with UNESCO.
