Held every four years, the ICA Congress brings together up to 2,000 professionals from across the world for a dynamic programme of workshops, plenary sessions, governance meetings and networking opportunities.

Who Can Apply
Applications are open to:
- National Archives and ICA institutional members
- Professional associations
- Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs)
All proposals must demonstrate strong collaboration with key archival stakeholders, particularly the National Archives and relevant professional associations in the host country.
What Is Expected
Prospective hosts must demonstrate their ability to deliver a large-scale international event, including:
- A suitable venue for 1,000–2,000 participants
- A comprehensive professional and social programme
- Strong organisational, logistical and financial capacity
- Commitment to ICA’s core values of sustainability, inclusivity and accountability
