The ICA Expert Group on Advocacy (AEG) is currently working to expand the Universal Declaration on Archives (UDA) into additional African languages.
The UDA is already available in over 40 languages, but we recognise that African languages remain underrepresented. At present, translations exist in Kinyarwanda and Swahili, and we are committed to improving accessibility and inclusivity across the region.
This is an open call inviting individuals and organisations to contribute to this effort. We welcome:
- Suggestions of African languages that should be prioritised
- Volunteers willing to support translations
- Recommendations of translators or relevant contacts
Please note that this is voluntary work. While no financial compensation is provided, all contributors will be fully acknowledged for their valuable work.
