The ICA’s Programme Commission (PCOM) is pleased to be offering a small number of bursaries for speakers who have an accepted proposal for the Barcelona Congress 27-30 October 2025. These grants reflect the ICA’s ongoing commitment to supporting archivists worldwide and to reducing financial barriers to participation, particularly for speakers who come from the least developed and developing countries.
We expect to be able to offer between 10 and 20 bursaries of 700€ (euros) to support speakers travelling to the Congress. Speakers who require transcontinental flights will be eligible for bursaries up to 1000€.
If you are an ICA member and a registered speaker—whether presenting a paper, participating in a panel, leading a workshop or a co-lab session, or giving a lightning talk—you are eligible to apply. Submissions must be authored or co-authored by the applicant and the applicant must be a presenter.
Please note these bursaries are intended to support travel and accommodation costs for speakers. They cannot be used for other purposes.
All payments will be made retroactively after the Congress, and invoices/proof of payment with the name of the speaker will need to be provided. If you wish to discuss this further, please contact us at programme@ica.org.
