This is a project to organize a train the trainers seminar on free software designed for archives with at least ten participants coming from other West African francophone countries as well as Senegal.
Outcomes will include:
• The trained participants forming an African free software users’ group capable of integrating relevant brands of software into the field of archives management.
• Awareness by the participants of the importance of free software as an accessible means of sustainable development in African archives and their exploration of similar kinds of software.
• Questions of standardization and codification are addressed in a more in-depth way since they are a prerequisite for the correct use of software.
