Webinar Summary

Join us as we kick off International Archives Week with a special webinar about the impact of social changes on archival work. This event will be a virtual conversation between the ICA Elected Officers and special guests on how archival institutions, like many other cultural organizations, are changing the way they do their work.

This conversation will expand on the idea that our societies are moving from a colonial or Eurocentric approach to an approach that allows them to better express what they are really made of. Many of our organizations consequently aim to show the diversity of cultures and origins of their citizens to include those who were marginalized or racialized and often neglected. To advance in this task, archival institutions, like others in the cultural heritage sector, are exploring ways or strategies to adjust, which has impacted the profession on a technical and theoretical level.
