“State transparency: management, preservation and access to public documents”
July 3rd to 5th, 2013, Bogotá, Colombia
Promoted by the Asociación Latinoamericana de Archivos- ALA (Latin American Archives Association) and by the General Archives of the Nation (General Archives of Colombia), the 8th International Seminar of Archives from Iberian Tradition will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, from July 03rd to 05th, 2013, with the theme : “State transparency: management, preservation and access to public documents”.
The Seminar hopes the attendance of professionals from at least 30 nationalities from Africa, Asian, Latin America and the Caribbean. Spanish, Portuguese and English speaking countries will be present in the Seminar.
There will be sessions on the followings themes: Transparency laws from different Latin Americans countries; benefits of public information access; personal data protection; freedom of expression; transparency in Governments; the archivists position regarding electronic documents; the right to public information; access and its relations to the new communication and information technologies and the right to information as a way to Democracy.
