  • ICA-AtoM: Access to Memory

    ICA-AtoM (Access to Memory) is a freely available, open source software package, which enables archive institutions to make available online descriptions of their holdings, in accordance with ISAD (G) and other ICA descriptive standards.

    It is also intended to be multi-lingual. This project plays an important part in realizing ICA's vision of harnessing new technologies in order to improve access to archives.

  • ICA-Req at the DLM Forum 2011 conference

    The Triennal DLM Forum Conference will take place in Brussels on 12-14 December. ICA will be there.

    The Conference will deal with "Interoperability and MoReq2010- Making intelligent informartion control a reality in Europe". The European standard MoReq2010 will be officially launched in the light of other important standards in the field, like ICA-Req which will be presented with a paper prepared by Hans Hofman and Margaret Crockett.

  • The Curator's workbench: Engaging Archivists through Tools for Digital Content

    Archivists prefer to use best of breed tools to process digital content. However, they are forced to combine these tools in cumbersome, manually orchestrated procedures that impede workflow. Valuable time and mental focus are lost when switching from one application to another.

    Archivists across the discipline are interested in better ways to accession, arrange and describe digital objects, while maintaining provenance, content and structure. The project aims to bring archivists together to share this interest, as well as their practices and needs.

  • ICA-Req: Principles and functional requirements for records in electronic office environments: guidelines and training material

    To assist ICA members and others to understand and implement the principles and functional requirements it is proposed to develop implementation guidelines and training materials - with a particular orientation towards the needs and circumstances of developing countries in addition to the needs and circumstances of small organisations and government agencies in developing countries.
