The call for volunteer translators for ICA documents launched earlier this year on the ICA website and via this newsletter has been extremely successful.

This was launched as part of ICA’s overall language policy which aims to produce key documents in, firstly, the 6 major UNESCO languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) but also to make material such as international standards available in a wide variety of languages to meet the needs of our community. To meet this demand, there was a call for volunteers to assist in translation and to date nearly 40 people have come forward with offers of help. These volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and countries and offer a wide range of languages. Work is now underway to create a translators workspace on the ICA website and to prioritise the work to be done. ICA is very grateful to those who have come forward with offers of help and looks forward to working with them in the future.
