  • President of the FAN officially appointed
  • ‘Archives and AI’, the FAN-ICA digital symposium, held at the UK National Archives

  • Co-drafted ‘Guide to archiving personal information guidance’ shared via the FAN website and workspace
  • FAN Steering Committee established (replacing the FAN Bureau)

  • FAN meeting takes place during the main conference ICA Yaoundé tied to key pan-African discussions; includes an update by the Expert Group on Shared Archival Heritage

  • Joint EURBICA and FAN presentation at the European Board of National Archivists meetings, Bucharest

  • ICA Adelaide: first meeting of the FAN Steering Committee held and a FAN meeting
  • Planning gets underway to prepare for ICA FAN Kew at the UK National Archives UK in Spring

  • ICA FAN Kew 2020 and Abu Dhabi Congress postponed
