In this new issue of Flash, the focus is put on Silences and Archives.
As archival collections have become accessible to a broader public, the issue of silence in archives has taken on growing importance. The profession as a whole is faced with renewed challenges that it is working diligently to address.
Reflective pieces from Amalia Levi, Archivist,  founder of The HeritEdge Connection and researcher at Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies, Zoe Dickinson, ICA New Professional 2021 and Rob Stevens, Director of the Tāhuhu: Preserving the Nation’s Memory Programme of New-Zealand give us an overview of the complex questions linking these two words.
The issue also reports on the Executive Board and Programme Commission meetings held in May, the changes in the ICA Secretariat, the appointment of the new ICA Executive Director and the opened calls to the membership for getting involved in the governance of ICA.
Finally, You will find in this issue the full programme of the International Archives Week which will take place next week.
Wishing you a good reading,
The ICA team
