Presentations from the Archives and AI digital symposium now available

In September 2018, the two-day digital symposium, Archives and AI, in collaboration with the Forum of National Archivists and the International Council on Archives took place at The National Archives UK, Kew. Two fantastic days brought together experts from the field and archivists from around the world to discuss the possibilities that AI brings to the archive community. Topics included data ethics, fact checking, handwritten text recognition and more. Artificial Intelligence (AI) seems to present almost limitless potential to archivists. Machine learning technologies provide archives radical new capabilities and possibilities and the challenges of appraisal, selection and sensitivity review of born-digital records might only be solvable through AI.

The presentations from both days, and the live broadcast YouTube link are available to view. Login to the FAN ICA Workspace.
