On 18-19 May, the Executive Board took the following decisions:
In spite of the disappointment at ICA’s exclusion from the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit in Paris (December 2016), the EB encouraged members to get involved in the development of OGP national action plans in their countries
The EB agreed that ICA’s efforts to secure exceptions and exemptions from copyright legislation at the international level through its representation at the World International Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva should continue
The EB approved the proposal from the National Archives of Cameroon that Yaoundé, should be the venue for the ICA Annual Conference in November 2018
The EB approved the proposal from the Archives and Records Association of the United Kingdom and Ireland the Edinburgh should be the venue for the ICA Annual Conference in 2019
The EB agreed that all ICA bodies must use the approved ICA logo and should be strongly encouraged to put new content on the ICA website
The EB approved the accounts for 2016, noted with satisfaction the financial report for the first quarter of 2017, and approved the draft budget for 2018
The EB approved the recruitment process outlined by the Elected Officers for the selection of a new Secretary General
