Meet the ICA Fellows!

Meet Dr. Trudy Huskamp Peterson from the United States, awarded the ICA Fellow Award in 2022, who speaks in the following video (in English), about professional empathy. She explains what professional empathy is, why it’s important, and how the ICA helps facilitate this for archivists all over the world.

Dr. Peterson has earned wide acclaim across the ICA for her commitment and her willingness to share her extensive knowledge of the archival endeavor. She listens to and respects all who turn to her for assistance and practical advice. A successful leader in archival institutions and in associations, and in recent times as a respected international consultant, she has provided articulate support for public awareness of the vital role of archives in society. As Editor of the ICA Section on Archives and Human Rights Newsletter, she has shared informed insight on key issues and ensured that this fundamental concern is embedded in the ICA programming.  Dr. Peterson has held many leadership positions in the ICA and its committees.
