ICA Virtual Session - Selling Records Management Services
The ICA, through the ICA Africa Programme, has been organizing a series of virtual sessions for all leaders in the records management field in Anglophone Africa. These sessions were focused on how archives and records management practitioners can effectively lead the records management profession to have an impact in present times, and can align their services to organisational strategies to build compelling advocacy for management support.
For closing this year, we are offering a last session scheduled for 25 November will be centred in discussing strategies to better sell records management services knowing that inadequate top management continues to be cited as one of the challenges affecting records management. This session is intended to share some thoughts and insights on how records management professionals can effectively pitch their services to attract and win the support of not only top management but other stakeholders as well. It will be anchored on relationship selling principles applied in commercial selling and how they can be harnessed in the records management practice.
This last virtual session will be facilitated by Dr. Cleophas Ambira, current Coordinator for the Africa Programme. Dr. Ambira is a practicing records management professional as well as human resource management practitioner. Besides records management work, he also works as an HR business partner with a leading financial institution in Eastern Africa. He serves as the Chairman of the Kenya Association of Records Managers & Archivists (KARMA). He has professional qualifications in leadership development, training skills and psychometrics. He is also a trainer on performance management, leadership development, relationship management, selling skills, competence-based interviewing (CBI), career development and facilitation skills. Dr. Ambira is also certified as a leadership trainer by Development Dimensions International (DDI), a globally renown leadership development and research organisation. He is a professional coach and mentor.
For this last virtual session, we are inviting Directors and Deputy Directors of Archival Institutions, Directors and Deputy Directors of Records Management, Heads of Records Management Departments, Records Management Academicians/Trainers, Senior Management in Records/Archives Management located in Anglophone Africa.

This virtual session will be delivered in English. Interpretation services in other languages will not be provided.
