Dr Abdulla Alraisi and ICA President, David Fricker, signed a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today for the Abu Dhabi Quadrennial Congress, to reflect the rescheduling of the event due to the COVID pandemic. The MoU now reflects the revised dates for ICAAbuDhabi2020, but also reaffirms the commitments made by the National Libraries and Archives of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to help less resourced nations attend, while guaranteeing a positive financial result for ICA’s ongoing programmes.
The virtual signing ceremony was conducted via Zoom. Dr Abdulla Alraisi, Cultural Adviser of the UAE Presidential Court and Board of Directors member and Member of the Executive Committee of the UAE National Library and Archives, stated: “I am delighted to once again commit to bursaries, importance of helping others and diversity, inclusion”.
ICA President, David Fricker, once again thanked Dr Abdulla and the UAE for generously allocating all Congress registration fees back to the ICA, providing a much needed financial base for the ongoing programmes and activities of ICA Branches and Sections.
The ICA Abu Dhabi Congress will take place from 9 to 12 October 2023.
