Dia Internacional dels Arxius

The Municipal Archive of the Girona City Council celebrates the Archives World Day. It is for that reason that it organizes a tribute to the donors of documentation that during last years have been enriching the documentary and collections of the archive. On that event, the archivist Joan Boadas will give a lecture and, simultaneously, there will be an exhibition to show the documentation that comes from the donors.

Galician translation of the Universal Declaration of the Archives

The Galician translation of the Universal Declaration of the Archives of the International Council on Archives (ICA) was promoted by the Arquivo de Galicia in the context of its activities as the head and center of reference for the archives system of the northwestern Spain autonomous region.
The Arquivo de Galicia was officially created in late 2010 and is responsible for the acquisition, custody, communication and dissemination of the records created by the Administration of the Xunta de Galicia, the regional government, in the exercise of its powers and activities. Also the Archives, which symbolizes the unity of Galician documentary heritage, are developing policies that contribute to the conservation, understanding and dissemination of that portion of the memory of Galicia wherever it is and by all means.
In the institutional declaration made on the occasion of International Archives Day in 2011, the Galician Government recognized the importance of archives and its commitment to the development of initiatives such as implementing e-government or creating and developing the Arquivo de Galicia, through which it will achieve in a coordinated manner the objectives of transparency, efficiency, quality of public services and preservation of the written, audiovisual and digital memory which constitutes the documentary heritage of the Galician people.

Traducción al gallego de la Declaración Universal de los Archivos

La traducción al gallego de la Declaración Universal de los Archivos del Consejo Internacional de Archivos (ICA) fue promovida por el Arquivo de Galicia en el contexto de las actividades que realiza como cabeza y centro de referencia del Sistema de archivos de esta comunidad autónoma del noroeste de España.
El Arquivo de Galicia fue creado de forma oficial a finales de 2010 y tiene como fines recibir, custodiar, comunicar y difundir los documentos generados en el ejercicio de sus competencias y actividades por la Administración de la Xunta de Galicia, el gobierno regional. De la misma forma, el Archivo, que simboliza la unidad del patrimonio documental gallego, se ocupa de desarrollar políticas que contribuyan a la conservación, conocimiento y difusión de esa porción de la memoria de Galicia en cualquier lugar donde se halle y por todos los medios a su alcance.
En la declaración institucional que efectuó con motivo del día internacional de los archivos del año 2011, el Gobierno gallego reconoció la importancia que los archivos poseen y se declaró comprometido en el desarrollo de iniciativas que, como la puesta en marcha de la administración electrónica o la creación y el desarrollo del Arquivo de Galicia, permitirán alcanzar, de forma coordinada, los objetivos de transparencia, eficacia, calidad en el servicio público y conservación de la memoria escrita, sonora, audiovisual y digital que constituye el patrimonio documental de los gallegos.
