It is with deep sorrow that we have learned about the strong earthquakes that affected Türkiye and Syria on 6 February 2023. We extend our condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and the government of both countries.
ICA will establish close communication with archival community in the region to identify the best ways to support the people and organizations of the archival and records management sector on the ground.
At times like this, solidarity of our global community is vital. The International Council on Archives is confident that it will be able to offer tangible support to our colleagues in the areas impacted by the earthquake who are concerned with salvaging and rehabilitating their archival heritage.
