Setareki Tale


Setareki Tale, or Seta as he is better known, began his career as an assistant archivist in 1986 going on to become Director of the National Archives of Fiji in 2009. During his archival career he was Vice-President of the Asia-Pacific Committee for UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Commonwealth Archivists and Records Managers (ACARM), and associate member of the training commission of the International Federation of Television Archives (IFTA). For ICA he has been Vice-President, Branches (2008-2011); President of PARBICA (1999-2003; 2005-2011); FIDA Trustee (2009-2011); member of Executive Board (2005-2011) and MCOM (2008-2011), and member of the ICA Commission on Archival Development (1999-2002). He has since left the world of archives to take up senior positions in the Fijian administration, where he is currently Director of Administration and Finance in the Ministry of Provincial Development.
