The ICA welcomes applications from mid-career and senior records and archives professionals from around the world to serve as Mentors for the New Professionals Programme.
The Mentor commits about 4-8 hours a month to liaise with and support a New Professional over the period in which the New Professional is considered active. We welcome applications from any ICA members – working, volunteer, or retired – who have an interest in supporting New Professionals. These professionals can offer advice on archival and records management questions and also on more practical career matters, such as planning career moves, applying for positions, and identifying opportunities for further training.
Mentors must be ICA members or work for institutions that hold ICA membership.
To facilitate communications with the cohort of New Professionals, we encourage applications from potential Mentors who are comfortable speaking and writing in English and/or French.
Full details about the Mentoring Programme and the application process can be found here
If you have more questions about the Mentoring Programme, feel free to contact the Coordinator for the Mentoring Programme at Mentors@ica.org.
We hope to confirm the 2022-2023 group of New Professionals and Mentors in September 2022. Please apply before July 22, 2022.
