In celebration of International Archives Day 2016, the Mechanism Archives and Records Section is featuring the work of the victims and witnesses support sections and the role of witnesses in the Tribunals.
MARS selected some ICTR and ICTY archives illustrating the path of witnesses and their contribution to the Tribunals.
This presentation illustrates the journey of the witness, from arrival and registration, to the support provided by the Tribunals, witness testimony, and the measures taken by the professional archivist to preserve these records.
To see the records and archives behind the work of victims and witnesses support sections, watch the multimedia presentation and some archival items presented by MARS “In the Footsteps of a Witness” today:
- In Arusha, on Serengeti 5th floor main elevator lobby.
- In The Hague, in the main lobby.
