This year, for the first time ever, ICA pro-actively sought contributions to its Annual Conference from the whole archival community.
This is another decisive break from the closed CITRA meetings of the past, where selected speakers were invited to deliver presentations. After a submission period of just six weeks we received over one hundred proposals by our deadline of Friday 8th March. Clearly the programme theme of transparency and access to information has struck a chord.
Although there is a still a long way to go in our preparations for Brussels 2013, we are very encouraged by this early sign of interest. We are hopeful that the ICA Annual Conference, although still in its experimental phase, will be a success in its very first year.
We intend to announce the draft programme and registration arrangements soon so please do continue to watch this space and do not miss out!
