Results of the call for nominations for the 2022-2026 Presidency 

The ICA has issued a call for nominations to find individuals willing to serve as President between 2022 and 2026.

The nominations for the Presidency received by the ICA Secretariat are:

  • Abdulla AlRaisi
  • Josée Kirps
  • Rita Tjien Fooh

 

2022 ICA Voting Process  

All ICA members in good standing have the right of vote. Please see the listing on the ICA website to confirm your right to vote in the upcoming election. Also, please make sure your contact details and in particular your emails are up to date. If the name of your institution’s person responsible for liaison with the ICA (for category A, B and C members) or your name (for category D members) does not appear on the lists, please contact Constance V. Vidon, ICA Executive Coordinator, at elections@ica.org.

All ICA members, categories A, B, C, and D*, in good standing, will be able to vote for their preferred candidate. The election will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution which was approved by the Extraordinary General Assembly on 20 October 2021. The following weighting system applies:

ICA will be accepting votes in two forms: paper or digital. Members can only vote in ONE format and the Secretariat with a scrutineer from ECOM will be verifying this process. Please read the relevant section based on the voting method selected

PLEASE NOTE: THE DEFAULT SYSTEM FOR VOTING WILL BE DIGITAL AND ALL ICA VOTING MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE AN INVITATION VIA EMAIL TO SUBMIT THEIR DIGITAL VOTE. ICA WILL NOT BE SENDING OUT PAPER BALLOTS TO ALL MEMBERS, IF MEMBERS WISH TO RECEIVE PAPER BALLOTS, THEY MUST INFORM THE SECRETARIAT AT ELECTIONS@ICA.ORG. SEE RELEVANT SECTIONS FOR MORE INFORMATION.

DIGITAL BALLOTS 

Digital balloting will start on Tuesday 5 July 2022. The voting will be done using LimeSurvey. All members in good standing will receive an email, from the ICA LimeSurvey account, with the voting information.

PAPER BALLOTS 

Members wishing to vote by paper ballot have up to Friday 8 July 2022 5:00 pm CET to make a written request via email to elections@ica.org.  Any requests made after this date will not qualify for paper ballot voting, this is to allow both the sending and receiving of paper ballots in time for the final ballot count.

All paper ballots MUST be received by the ICA Secretariat by Friday 29 July 2022 for the ballot counting which will take place on Friday 5 August 2022 at the latest.

Paper ballots, when requested, will be sent by email and may be submitted by post, fax and e-mail at elections@ica.org.

INFORMATION REGARDING CANDIDATES 

The curriculum vitae (French and English), the statements of intent (French and English) and names of referees are posted on members only pages on the website for consultation during the voting process.

TIMETABLE  

  • The closing date for voting will be Friday 29 July 2022 at midnight Central European Time (CET).
  • The counting of votes will be concluded by Friday 5 August 2022 at the latest.
  • The results of the count will be transmitted to the Elections Officer by Wednesday 10 August 2022.
  • The Elections Officer will inform the candidates of the results by Friday 12 August 2022.
  • The results will be posted by Friday 19 August 2022.
  • The term of the new President commences after the formal handover conducted during the ICA General Assembly meeting of Wednesday 21 September 2022, Rome.
