Current position: Director General of the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center at the Royal Hashemite Court (part-time), Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jordan, and Professor of Modern Arab History at the University of Jordan.
Media work: Currently, a journalist writer for the Jordanian daily Al-Dustour newspaper, and for the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper. He presents the “This Evening” talk show on Jordanian TV, and previously worked as a presenter for the “Nabd Al-Balad” program in Roya TV for five years. He previously worked as a writer for The Jordanian Al-Ghad newspaper between 2004-2010 and the Jordanian Al-Rai between 1999-2004. He wrote in parallel in other Arab newspapers such as Al-Hayat Al-London, Al-Qatari Al-Arab Al-Youm Al-Saudi Al-Iqtisadiah Al-Saudi, and worked as editor-in-chief of a number of Jordanian cultural magazines. He is a member of the editorial boards of scientific and cultural magazines.
Research Interest and Publication: Since 1996, he has worked on studying the social, economic and urban history of the city of Damascus and the Levant in the Ottoman era, and his research has been published: Suleiman Pasha Al-Azm’s Endowment Book (2003) and non-Muslims and their sources of documents in Damascus during the first half of the eighteenth century AD (2005) and the endowments of monasteries in Damascus during the first half of the century (12 AH / 18 AD) (2009). He published many books, and won the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists in 2009, and the Arab Fund for Culture in 2008.
