Join EURBICA in Strengthening Collaboration Across the European Archival Community

Dear EURBICA Members,

Since its establishment in 2016, the European Branch of the International Council on Archives (EURBICA) has served as the principal pan-European professional body within the International Council on Archives (ICA). Bringing together public and private archival institutions, organizations, and professionals from across Europe, EURBICA promotes professional dialogue, cross-border cooperation, and shared development within the archival field.

The year 2025 marks an important milestone in EURBICA’s growth. The newly elected EURBICA Executive Board is preparing a New Strategic Plan, designed to foster proactive participation and collaboration among all members. In line with this vision, we invite all interested colleagues to contribute to EURBICA’s 2025–2029 activities by joining specialized technical and thematic working groups.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a volunteer to coordinate EURBICA’s communication activities. The selected volunteer will manage and promote EURBICA’s social media channels and website, helping to enhance our visibility and engagement across Europe. While strong English communication skills are essential, proficiency in other European languages—particularly the other two ICA official languages, French and Spanish—will be highly valued.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee EURBICA’s social media and website, based on a communication proposal (including content calendar, hashtags, key topics, campaigns, and important dates) to be approved by the EURBICA Executive Board.
  • Ensure that all communication activities align with EURBICA’s Strategic Plan and Annual Operational Plan.
  • Establish and lead a Dissemination Working Group composed of EURBICA members to coordinate joint outreach initiatives relevant to the European archival community.
  • Collaborate on communication matters with other European archival and heritage networks, including ICARUS, APEF, EURASIA, and the DLM Forum, among others.

How to Apply:

Please send your letter of intent (including your ICA membership number) and your CV by 28 November to the following email address: eurbica@ica.org.

We look forward to your participation and to shaping EURBICA’s future together!

The EURBICA Executive Board
