The FIAT/IFTA Preservation and Migration Commission (PMC) has extended the deadlines to submit proposals for the Preservation & Migration Seminar 2026, which will take place 4–5 June 2026 in Dublin, Ireland, at the Royal Irish Academy, co-hosted with RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) and the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI).
This edition marks the first on-site seminar organized by the PMC and will bring together professionals working in audiovisual archives, broadcasting organizations, libraries, research institutions, and technology providers to exchange experiences and practical knowledge on the preservation and migration of media content.
Theme: Digital time: show me how you do it! – Recipes for audiovisual content longevity
The seminar aims to explore practical strategies and real-world solutions for ensuring the long-term accessibility of audiovisual content in an era of rapid technological change. Through case studies, technical deep dives, and panel discussions, participants will address key challenges in digital preservation and media archive management.

- Presentations (30 minutes including Q&A)
- Discussion panels (45–60 minutes with multiple speakers)

The seminar particularly welcomes contributions from professionals working with audiovisual archives, public service media, broadcasters, audiovisual libraries, and related technical providers, although participation is open to the wider digital preservation community.
